Another month and another Love Me Beauty Bag. If you do not know about this beauty subscription service then let me catch you up.
Love Me Beauty is a monthly beauty subscription service where, unlike its competitors, you get to choose which items go into your bag. This removes the possibility of disappointing products or terrible shade matches, etc. The way Love Me Beauty work is that each month you are given 60 credits to choose items, each item can be worth anywhere from 5-30 credits. You can additionally buy add on credits if the months edit is so good you need more.
If you wish to have some extra credits for free use my code: EMILY1626242
If you are interested in what products Love Me Beauty provides take a look at my previous blog posts:
This month's edit is called #HelloSummer and I wasn't really hyped for the products. There wasn't much new in the edit and I ended up with only 3 items. All travel sizes and one product which is from last month's edit.
I would also like to add that I haven't truly played around with these items yet. The bag arrived much later in the month that usual so keep posted for a quick review update!
On a positive note the bag this month is adorable!
I am thouroughly gutted about this item. It's so small! As mentioned you only get 60 credits a month and this was 30. Half my credits on an item that isn't full sized – not one of my best choices. I am yet to play with this item but from a quick play around I can tell you the claims and some basic comments.
A bestselling and performance-driven moisturizer rich in corrective nutrients to hydrate, nourish and impart a glow. With Alpha Lipoic and DMAE.
A lightweight, superior facial moisturizer formulated with powerful antioxidants to help firm skin's appearance and minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Face Finishing Moisturizer is rich in texture and feels simply wonderful on the skin, imparting a visibly radiant and smooth appearance. It's formulated with three powerful anti-aging sciences: Alpha Lipoic, DMAE and Vitamin C Ester.
This Moisturiser claims to have a tint to it that over time releases radiance to the skin with a 'divine' rose smell.
This product does have a rose smell to it and smells exactly like my rose and glycerin toner! I swatched this on the back of my hand and well… see for yourself.
The moisturiser is a thick consistency and I can see darker spots within the product which, until told otherwise, I'm going to assume are radiance pigments or potentially colour pigments which if the latter is correct explain the final picture. Once massaged into the back of my hand I noticed an immediate colour change.
PSA: To all my pale princesses this product needs diluting.
Despite this being a "tint" there is a definite orange colour to this product which is a shame as I cannot reach for this product daily, only when I am using self tanner. I wish to test this product further but as of now this product will have to wait. I hope the product lives up to its claims as it does retail for a whopping £59.00 at full size which is 60ml / 2 fl oz.
Caudalie Micellear Water 50ml - 20 Credits
This product retails for £9.00 (100ml) or £15.00 (200ml) and claims to be
For both the face and eyes and is a real French secret. Caudalie grape and chamomile water gently cleanses and removes make up from the eyes and make up in one step. The skin is moisturised and soothed and left soft and clean.
This product is slightly fragrances with orange, lemon blossom, watermelon and mint leaves and is marketed specifically for sensitive skin.
Caudalie has appeared in a Love Me Beauty Edit before and I have enjoyed what I have tested. This item arrived at a convenient time as I had recently ran out of micellear water. I have tried out micellear water from both Garnier and L'Oréal and this Caudalie micellear is by far the best I've tried!
Caudalie's Micellear water effortlessly removes face and eye make up with no tugging nor stinging of the eyes. My skin was left feeling clean and soft, as claimed. I would like to add that even on the days I did not wear make up I still applied this product and found it removed any pollution my skin may have picked up during the day which is amazing.
I believe I may purchase this again!
Charlotte Tilbury Kiss Pockets – 10 Credits
With only 10 credits left, thanks to the Perricone MD moisturiser my last choice of the month was some 'kiss pockets' from Charlotte Tilbury. You get 3 colours to try out twice, so 6 kiss packets. This is an interesting concept and not one I can put into words easily. In practise you place these on your lip, close your mouth on the card and drag the card out to imprint the colour onto your lips. Terrible explanation I know, check this link out to visually see how to use this product – https://vimeo.com/201993603
In terms of colours you receive one red:
It's a shame that these kiss pockets include no names of what the colours are but I'm excited to test these further and see if they turn out to be the colour they look. Once tested I shall write a small post about them!
Despite being the cheapest credit item, these kiss packets may turn out to be my favourite item of the Edit.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing this month's Love Me Beauty Bag!
I'll be back on Sunday for Sunday Book Club written by a Guest Blogger. I can't wait for you guys to read it.
